Theory – What is Margin?

Margin is the amount of money you need to deposit to open a trading position. Brokers allow traders to control a larger position using a smaller capital. This is called leverage.

Formula Used

Total Position Value = Price × Quantity

Margin Required = Position Value × (Margin % ÷ 100)

Leverage = Position Value ÷ Margin Required
