Is there always someone who wants to buy or sell every stock?
If the stock doesn't trade very often, there may be times when no one wants to buy or sell at a certain price. This means that if you set a limit order to buy or sell at a price where there are no other sellers or buyers, your order may not be filled at all or may take a long time to fill. The average daily volume is small, there isn't much order depth, and the gap between bids and offers is big. These are all signs that a stock doesn't have a lot of buyers or sellers. You can't sell your shares if no one wants to buy them. You'll have to hold on to them until other shareholders become interested.
