What is Nifty50?
The Nifty 50
The NIFTY 50 is a standard index for the Indian stock market. It is made up of the weighted averages of 50 of the biggest Indian companies that are traded on the National Stock Exchange. For Indian stocks, it is one of the two most important measures, along with the BSE SENSEX.
The Nifty 50 is a list of the fifty most popular large-cap stocks that were worth a lot of money in the 1960s and 1970s. People thought of the Nifty Fifty as "one-decision" stocks because they had a history of growth and their profits kept going up. They were told to buy and never sell. In 1996, the Nifty 50 took on a new meaning in the business world. This word refers to the NIFTY 50 Index on the Indian National Stock Exchange.
