Indexes for specific sectors
The Sensex and Nifty are two of the most important measures in India. They show the overall health of the market. These are known as sectoral measures. For instance, the Bank Nifty on NSE shows how people feel about the banking business. The CNX IT on NSE shows how all IT stocks are doing in the stock market. The BSE and the NSE both have sector-specific indicators. These indices are put together and kept up to date in the same way as the other important indices.
